It's fun to shoot people

No doubt next in line for beatification from NZPundit
Introducing Lt. General James Mattis
Actually, its a lot of fun to fight. You know, it's a hell of a hoot. I like brawling.....
You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for 5 years because they didn't wear a veil, you know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them.
America! Fuck Yeah!

I dont know why I am bothering with this, it's stating the obvious, but :

He's a soldier for goodness sake. The guy's job carries a risk of death. He's probably seen his own buddies die. No wonder he wants to knock off insurgents. Soldiers are bravely serving their country and dying by the hundreds. At least America has the balls to be there. It's easy to sit around at the other end of the world and nitpick.

Actually, I don't know if that's a healthy attitude even for a soldier. Isn't it a duty? Wasn't it a famous soldier who said "War is Hell"? Didn't Tom Cruise agonise over it all in the Last Samurai & we're supposed to identify with him as a good soldier? (OK, I'm stretching the point now).

But at least he enjoys his job...

If killing people is fun then surely he should be put into a psych unit to stop him from randomly killing people. He's a psychopath.

The adrenaline rush of battle is a completely normal human reaction. Like a rugby game. Like millions of teenage males worldwide playing Quake or whatever. I guess it's hard to understand if you are a navel gazing liberal intellectual with low testosterone levels.

"The adrenaline rush of battle is a completely normal human reaction".
So that's why Lynddee England doesn't look like a woman: too much testosterone swirling around her system, grinning at the release of the tension when those electrodes were securely fastened on the Moslem pig's nuts. Torturing towel-heads is so much fun for us, as we rather kick navel than gaze at them

Soldiers are meant to be discliplined. As long as they fight when ordered to and keep their shit in order at other times, then that should be okay...

It doesn't help debate when people descend into dated, dumb cliches about liberals and libido. What, there aren't any conservatives who have ball issues?

I'd be a little worried that he gets pleasure from ending someone's life. Setting aside distate for war and killing anyway, I can understand that there would be some basic pleasure in killing people (I mean, shit, I've played Tactical Ops and Quake, I know what it sort of feels like), but the question I would have is what does the soldier think about the situation he's in - how does he feel about the people he is encountering and his govermnent back home in America? Is he comfortable with his reaction and moral decisions in this situation?

Does he view certain people differently to his own kind? I suppose it should be, 'Does he view the worth of certain Afghan men differently because of their cultural practices?'

'Them that can do, them that can't criticize"

This guy has done more for womens liberation than all the feminists in history put together!

Still metrosexual reporters and bloggers who did less than nothing to free the women of Afghanistan and Iraq
get into a tizzy because he makes some statements which are not SENSATIVE and all touchy feely.

Give the man some senstivity training!!!
